Abstract

Health care in the western world has undergone major changes, influenced by cultural, economic and institutional events and transformations. The institutions that deal with this care have undergone transformations – from secularization to the phenomenon of commodification/marketing process. This article aims to develop, based on a bibliographical review on care, health care, situation and care for the elderly in institutions that perform human care, a notion of care in sanitary surveillance and care carried out by Sanitary Surveillance in Long-Term Institutions. It is observed that the care of the State to the institutionalized elderly occurs in a limited and fragmented way and without the proper connection between the sectors. The action of Sanitary Surveillance occurs predominantly by regulation.

    Possui Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Católica do Salvador (1992). Durante a Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas foi durante um ano monitora da Disciplina de Zoologia II (Parasitologia) e monitora da Disciplina de Didática e Funcionamento do Ensino de Primeiro e Segundo Graus. Ainda como estudante, desenvolveu atividade de pesquisa na área de Microbiologia na Empresa Baiana de Água e Saneamento (EMBASA). Exerceu atividade docente em Biologia, nível de segundo grau, de 1992 a 1997. Exerceu de 1996 a 2014 a função de Bióloga do Centro de Controle de Zoonoses de Salvador desenvolvendo atividades na área de Ecologia, com ênfase em Análise Ambiental e controle da raiva animal no município. Durante dois anos atuou, também pela Prefeitura Municipal de Salvador no Distrito Sanitário de Itapuã nos Setores de Vigilância Epidemiológica, VISA e Zoonoses. Possui Graduação em Odontologia pela Fundação Bahiana Para o Desenvolvimento das Ciências tendo atuado em Clínica Odontológica na área de Clínica Geral. Possui especialização em Auditoria em Sistemas de Saúde pela Universidade Estácio de Sá - RJ. Núcleo Portal-F ( Salvador-Ba). Possui especialização em Odontologia do Trabalho pela Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic - São Paulo. Ocupou o cargo de Subgerente de Ações Básicas do Centro de Controle de Zoonoses/ Salvador de maio de 2012 a novembro de 2014. Atualmente é Fiscal de Controle Sanitário (área de qualificação Odontóloga) na Vigilância Sanitária do Município de Salvador atuando junto ao Distrito Sanitário de Pau da Lima. Possui Mestrado em Saúde Coletiva com Concentração em Vigilância Sanitária pelo Instituto de Saúde Coletiva (ISC) da Universidade Federal da Bahia.

    Possui Graduação em Nutrição pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (1985), Mestrado em Saúde Coletiva pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1996) e Doutorado em Saúde Pública pelo Instituto de Saúde Coletiva/UFBA (2007). Atualmente é professora Adjunto I do Instituto de Saúde Coletiva/UFBA. Tem experiência na área de Saúde Coletiva, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: vigilância sanitária, formação em saúde, políticas e e gestão em saúde.
