The Brazilian municipalities have distinct modes of organization and public administration owing to differing regional realities, which is an important strategy for the planning of health surveillance services. The aim of this study is to describe and analyse the procedures performed by the Health Surveillance service of Divinópolis inserted into the Ambulatory Information System (SIA-SUS) from 2008 to 2013. This was a cross-sectional

From Tabnet/Datasus were accessed data of outpatient services in the SUS for the service location and form of organization related to health surveillance. Data were exported and organized by activity type for Windows Excel® computational program (version 2007) to descriptive analysis. A total of 49 types of procedures performed by health surveillance service of Divinópolis, 6 (12.24%) are related for administrative proceedings health, 4 (8.16%) for educational activities, 5 (10.20%) for analysis/research outbreaks and 10 (20.41%) for sanitary inspection.
