Reflexões sobre a “Operação Carne Fraca”

A Globalização é, por definição, um processo que proporciona a integração entre economias, culturas, ambientes e mercados de diferentes países. Segundo Abílio1, a sociedade atual está construída em torno de fluxos: fluxos de capital, fluxos de informação, fluxos de tecnologia, fluxos de interação organizacional, fluxos de imagens, sons e símbolos. Esses fluxos sensibilizam toda nossa vida econômica, política e simbólica.Sendo a alimentação uma importante atividade humana que envolve não somente razões biológicas evidentes, mas também aspectos econômicos, sociais, científicos, políticos, psicológicos e culturais, ela é impactada diretamente pelo fenômeno da Globalização2.
Recentemente em nosso país, foi deflagrada a “Operação Carne Fraca”, que, supostamente, revelou um esquema de compra de licenças sanitárias por frigoríficos. Todas as notícias advindas dessa operação tiveram ampla divulgação na mídia nacional e internacional.
